Curt 5th Wheel Hitch Adapter Rails Installation - 2024 GMC Sierra 3500- Video

Curt 5th Wheel Hitch Adapter Rails Installation - 2024 GMC Sierra 3500

Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer, and today we're taking a look at the Curt fifth wheel adapter rails for factory prep Chevy and GMC trucks with the OEM prep package. And today we have it on a 2024 GMC Sierra 3500. So if you've upgraded your towing rig to something with an OEM prep package, instead of going out and buying a whole new fifth wheel that drops into that, this adapter rail is gonna allow you to use your previous fifth wheel because this gives you the ISR standard rails. And that way you can drop that fifth wheel in and you'll be ready to hit the road. Now this is also a pretty heavy duty adapter, so depending on your fifth wheel, you're obviously gonna want to take a look at all the weights and make sure that everything's playing ball. This one is rated at a gross trailer weight rating of 25,000 pounds. more

Yakima CoreBar Crossbars Roof Rack Installation - 2021 Gmc Acadia

How's it going, neighbors This is Ed here with etrailer.com and we're taking a look at the Yakima CoreBar system with the TimberLine Towers on our 2021 GMC Acadia. Now as far as adding a roof rack system to your vehicle, that's gonna help solve the problem of having additional space for your cargo and still loading up your vehicle with passengers. Having a roof rack also helps you with getting out there and having fun 'cause it can also support kayak carriers, bike carriers, as well as cargo boxes, as your weight capacity on the CoreBar system is at 220 pounds. However, you're definitely gonna want to consult with your manufacturer's instructions to see what the maximum capacity of the roof is. The best benefit of not having a fixed mounting point system and taking advantage of your raised rails is the fact that you can adjust your spread for whatever accessory you're using, like some of the items I listed, or maybe a tent. The bars themselves are 50 inches long, about three inches wide, two and three quarters and an inch tall. more

Demco Towed Vehicle Battery Charge Wire Kit Installation - 2015 GMC Canyon- Video

Demco Towed Vehicle Battery Charge Wire Kit Installation - 2015 GMC Canyon

Hey everybody, Ryan here at etrailer. Today on our 2015 GMC Canyon, we're gonna be showing you how to install the Demco Towed Vehicle Battery Charge Line Kit. Before we do that though, let's take a minute, check it out and I'll explain to you why it's a good idea to use one of these. So what a charge line kit is going to do is essentially maintain or trickle charge your vehicle's battery whenever you're flat towing it down the road. And the reason why that's important is because your vehicle's battery will get depleted because of the supplemental braking system. So every time that braking system turns on, it's going to take a little bit of power from your battery. more

Hey guys, this is Jake here with each trailer. Today we have a 2023 GMC Sierra 3500 and we're gonna be taking a look at and I'm gonna show you how to get it in place. It's the Curt OEM 5th Wheel Adapter Rails. The nice part about this kit is that it's gonna fit directly into your puck system of many different brands but especially the '23 GMC 3500. All you have to do is lift it up, set it over top of your puck system and drop it in place. To lock it down, you simply flip these rails or these handles, insert your pin, get these three holes lined up, and then latch your pin. more

How's it going, everyone It's Ethan here with etrailer. Today we're going to be taking a look at the Yakima Roof Rack System with our JetStream crossbars and showing you how to install them on our 2022 GMC Sierra. If you're transporting a large amount of items or just large items in general and you don't have room in your bed, or they're just items you'd rather keep out of the cabin of your vehicle, a roof rack system like this is gonna be a good way to do that. The crossbars that we have here are an aerodynamic shape so they taper in the back just to cut down on some of that wind noise and wind resistance. With any sort of roof rack system, you'll get a little bit, but this is nice that it cuts some of that down. Additionally, it does feature this rubberized strip inside this T-track slot, so you can use these roof rack with T-track accessories and there's no need to trim the actual strip to get those on. more

But before we do that, why don't we check this out and I'll talk about why it's a good idea to run one of these. When it comes to setting up your flat tow, you're gonna want things to go smoothly and work like they should, and be easy to figure out. And a charge line is one of those things that it's a small component and I feel like a lot of people forget about it but it really does make a big difference. And what this is gonna do is keep your truck's battery topped off and in good working order whenever you're flat towing it. more

Hey everybody, Ryan here at etrailer. Today on our 2021 GMC Canyon, we're gonna be showing you how to install the Roadmaster automatic battery disconnect switch. But before we do that, why don't we check this out and see what it's actually gonna do for you. This automatic battery disconnect switch isn't a component that is absolutely necessary, but it sure is convenient to have and makes life a lot easier whenever you're getting ready to hook up to your motor home, or disconnect. And I say that because GMC requires that you disconnect your battery whenever you're flat towing it behind the motor home. And so what that would entail without something like this would be for you to pop the hood, get a couple of tools out, go under there, manually undo the battery, tow it. more

Hi there, GMC owners. Today, on your 2018 GMC Sierra 1500, we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install Demco's Air Force One second vehicle kit. This is a permanently-mounted proportional braking system that's specifically designed for motorhomes that have air brakes. And this is my top pick for a motorhome that has air brakes for the braking system for it. If you have a motorhome that doesn't have air brakes, my top pick for that one would be Demco's Stay-IN-Play DUO. But you don't wanna use the Stay-IN-Play with air brakes, there are some issues with that, that's why they've got this one here that is specifically designed for those air brakes. more

Ryan: How's it going Ryan here at etrailer.com. Today on our 2020 GMC Sierra 1500, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Roadmaster battery charge line kit for towed vehicles. Now, whenever you use a braking system, that braking system is going to be connected directly to your truck's battery drawing power from it while you're flat towing it down the road. Well, that can cause a couple of different problems. Whenever you arrive to your destination with your friends and family and you go to disconnect your truck and take it for a spin, since that braking system was using battery power, that could potentially leave you stranded with a dead battery and as opposed to having to search around for a jump box or jumper cables and bother someone to jumpstart your truck, the charge line is going to actually maintain that battery power by more or less trickle charging it as you're driving or flat-towing rather down the road. Now, the way the charge line works is really simple. One end of the charge line is going to get connected to the six way plug at the front of the truck and so whenever you are driving your motor home, pulling your truck behind it, that motor home is going to send some power into that six way plug that powers going to come up the wire into the breaker. more

How's is the going Ryan here at etrailer.com. Today on our 2016 GMC Canyon, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Roadmaster Automatic Battery Disconnect switch. The automatic battery disconnect switch is something I do highly recommend whenever you're flat towing your Canyon. The other five main components that you're going to need are going to be your base plate, your braking system, your tow bar, tow bar wiring, as well as safety cables. The reason I do highly recommend the automatic battery disconnect switch, is because if you look in the owner's manual on our Canyon, it is going to instruct us to disconnect from our battery every time we flat tow down the road. That could be a real hassle without your switch and that's because you're going to have to get your tools out, come on underneath the hood, disconnect everything. Once you get to your campsite or your destination and you want to disconnect and drive your truck, you have to come back under the hood, hook your battery back up and then you're ready to hit the road as opposed to just using our switch. more

Get my tools out, disconnect the battery and then isolate the cables so I don't have to worry about arcing on something. Now when we're not using our Tow Defender we can remove the pin and clip from each side, we can take the Tow Defender out of the bracket, and then simply roll it up to where we can store it on the back of our motor home. Then they do provide us with some straps that we can wrap around the Tow Defender and in a nice, neat package to where we can just leave it right here whenever we're ready to tow.Our Tow Defender's gonna work with all Blue Ox and Demco tow bars with the appropriate brackets as well as all Roadmaster motor home mounted tow bars. more

Today on our 2017 GMC Acadia we're gonna take a look at and show you how install the Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit for Towed Vehicles. Part number is RM-156-25.Now, our charge line kit takes care of the problem where when we tow our vehicle the battery drains down. Typically you'll have to leave the key on in a vehicle requiring a charge line kit, so some of the functions stay running. What this provides us is a 15 Amp charge going to our battery; it's gonna get it from the connector plug on the front of our vehicle hear, just run the provided wire up to our breaker, and then once it goes through our breaker we'll just run that onto the battery post. It's gonna give us a constant charge. The breaker is designed to prevent this from overloading, so if we're working this too much, or if we've got some kind of a major draw going on, at a point the filament inside's gonna come up to where it's not making contact. So that allows everything to cool off a little bit, and as it cools it's gonna come back down, make contact, and again continue charging the battery for us. more
